Mindful
The MINDFUL program was created to provide education and resources that fill the gap in treatment to achieve optimal mental health for children and youth.
Seventy percent of mental health problems and illnesses have their onset in childhood. Mental health issues affect 10% to 20% of Canadian children and youth and suicide is one of the leading causes of death among 15-24 year olds. A molecular approach – diet and nutrition – can lead to significant improvements in childhood mental health.
One of the many stories about the importance of the Mindful program is told by Rosalie Moscoe, mother of an adult child living with schizophrenia and the co-chair of ION’s board of directors.
Today there is a gap in the treatment of children’s mental health. Through Mindful, we can help fill that gap.
I was lucky to find orthomolecular medicine 22 years ago, but today’s parents still don’t have easy access to resources where they can get accurate information and support.
